The castle of Lisbon is also known as Saint George Castle. It has been a national monument of Portugal since 1910. The oldest parts of the structure date back to the 6th century when it was fortified by the Romans. The Castle is known for its panoramic views of the capital and it even houses a Periscope in the tower of Ulysses that gives visitors a 360 degree look around.
